This website belongs to İkon Ağız ve Diş Sağlığı Hizmetleri Ltd. Şti., which trades as İkon Dental ("İkon", "we"). We are the data controller for the personal data described on this page.
We run three dental clinics in Istanbul:

We process personal data under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK). For anything on this page, write to info@ikondis.com.
2. What we collect and how
The consultation form. The form asks for your name, your phone or WhatsApp number and, if you add them, your email address, the treatment you are interested in and a message. When you press send, these details go from this website's server, over an encrypted connection, to our mailbox info@ikondis.com as a single email, together with the page you sent it from and the date. The website itself stores no copy; the email is kept in our clinic mailbox.
Email, phone and WhatsApp. Whatever you choose to share with us, for example photos of your teeth, X-rays, your medical history or your travel dates.
At the clinic. The information a dental clinic needs to examine and treat you: your medical and dental history, examination notes, X-rays and scans, your treatment plan and your appointments.
Health information
Photos of your teeth, X-rays and medical details are health data, a special category of personal data under KVKK. We use them only to assess your case and to plan, carry out and follow up your treatment.
On the website itself. When you open a page, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, two Google services, record how the website is used: which pages you view and for how long, the page or search that brought you here, your device and browser, and your approximate location worked out from your IP address. They use cookies to do this, described in section 5. The website also stores two small settings in your browser: the language you picked and that you closed the cookie notice. Its fonts, photos and patient videos are served from the website itself. Like any website, the server that hosts it may keep short technical logs, such as IP addresses and browser types, to keep the site running and secure.
3. Why we use your data and on what legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and prepare your treatment plan: because you asked us to, as a step before an agreement with you.
- To examine, treat and follow you up, including appointments and, if you ask us, help with your hotel and airport transfer: to perform the agreement with you. Health data is processed by dentists and staff who are bound by professional confidentiality, for diagnosis, treatment and care, as KVKK allows.
- To keep patient records: because Turkish health law requires it.
- To see how this website is used and make it better: through Google Analytics, described in section 5.
- To share your story, photos or video on this website or our social media: only with your separate consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not use your data for any purpose you would not expect from a dental clinic, and we do not sell it.
4. Who can see your data
Inside İkon, your health information is shared only with the dentists and the international patient coordinators who need it to answer you and look after your treatment. Everyone who works with patient information is bound by confidentiality.
Outside İkon, we share only what is needed:
- with the hotel and transfer providers you ask us to arrange, limited to your name, travel dates and contact details;
- with Google, which runs Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics for us and may process this data on servers outside Türkiye (section 5);
- with public authorities, when the law requires it.
Channels that run outside Türkiye
If you write to us on WhatsApp or by email, your messages pass through those services, which may store data on servers outside Türkiye. WhatsApp, for example, is run by Meta and has its own privacy policy. By choosing one of these channels you ask us to talk to you through it. You can always call us or visit a clinic instead, and you can bring X-rays and documents with you in person.
5. Cookies, other services and links on this website
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. Every page loads Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser, such as _ga, that can last up to two years and let it recognise a returning browser. Google acts under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and may process this data outside Türkiye. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout); the website keeps working without them.
- WhatsApp buttons open WhatsApp, a service run by Meta under its own privacy policy. Nothing is sent to WhatsApp until you press a button.
- "View on map" links open Google Maps, where Google's privacy policy applies. No map is loaded on our pages.
- Social media links to Instagram, Facebook and YouTube take you to those sites, where their own policies apply.
- Patient videos play from this website, not from a video platform.
6. How long we keep it
Patient records are kept for as long as Turkish health law requires. Everything else, such as an enquiry that does not lead to treatment, is kept no longer than we need it to answer you, and is then deleted or anonymised, unless you ask us to keep it for a later visit. Consent to publish your photos or video lasts until you withdraw it.
7. How we protect it
Access to patient records is limited to the people who need it for your care, and everyone who works with patient information is bound by confidentiality. Please remember that ordinary email is not encrypted end to end. If you would rather not send X-rays or documents online, you can bring them to the clinic.
8. Your rights
Under Article 11 of KVKK you can ask us:
- whether we process personal data about you;
- for information about that processing, if we do;
- why we process it, and whether we use it only for that purpose;
- who we have shared it with, in Türkiye or abroad;
- to correct it, if it is incomplete or wrong;
- to delete or destroy it, under the conditions the law sets;
- to tell the people we shared it with about a correction or deletion;
- to reconsider a decision against you that was made only by automated means;
- for compensation, if unlawful processing has caused you damage.
Send your request in writing to info@ikondis.com or to one of our clinic addresses above, with enough information for us to identify you. We answer within the time the law sets. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu, kvkk.gov.tr).
If you live outside Türkiye, for example in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the law where you live may give you further rights. We handle every request under the law that applies to it.
9. Changes to this policy
If the way we handle personal data changes, for example if we add new measurement or advertising tools to this website, we will update this page and its date before the change takes effect.
