Who is Dt. Mehmet Batuhan Aksu?
Dt. Mehmet Batuhan Aksu is a dentist at İkon Dental in Istanbul. Dt. Aksu studied dentistry at İstanbul University Faculty of Dentistry (Çapa) from 2021 to 2026, completing clinical training in all of the faculty's clinical departments.
Throughout those five years the training combined theory with intensive clinical work: examining patients of different ages, planning their treatment and carrying it out. Dt. Aksu follows scientific developments closely and works with current, evidence-based methods.
The particular interests are aesthetic dentistry, restorative treatment, root canal treatment (endodontics) and prosthetic rehabilitation. The aim with every patient is the same: a reliable, natural-looking treatment that fits that person's needs and lasts.

Restorative and aesthetic dentistry
Decayed, broken or worn teeth can be rebuilt with tooth-coloured fillings, composite bonding, or inlays and onlays made in the laboratory. Small gaps, chips and uneven shapes can be corrected with bonding, and whitening lightens the colour of the teeth. Some of these treatments can be part of a smile makeover.
Root canal treatment
When the inside of a tooth is infected or damaged, root canal treatment cleans and fills the canals so the tooth can be kept.

Questions patients ask
Can a broken front tooth be repaired without a crown?
Often yes. A small chip or break can usually be rebuilt with composite bonding in one visit. If a large part of the tooth is missing, an onlay or a crown may last better. Which suits your tooth is decided at the examination.
Is root canal treatment painful?
The tooth is numbed with local anaesthetic, so the treatment itself should not hurt. The tooth may feel tender for a few days afterwards.
