Who is Dt. Abdulkadir Samast?
Dt. Abdulkadir Samast is a dentist at İkon Dental in Istanbul. After graduating from Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Dentistry in 2020 and serving as a dentist in the Turkish Armed Forces, Dt. Samast joined İkon in 2022.

Root canal treatment and retreatment
Root canal treatment cleans and seals the inside of a tooth so it can be kept. When an earlier root canal treatment has failed, retreatment removes the old filling material, and any post, and treats the canals again. The methods include a rubber dam to keep the tooth isolated, an electronic apex locator to measure the length of the root, rotary and reciprocating files, heat-controlled filling of the canals and bioceramic materials for repairs.
Aesthetic bonding
Composite bonding repairs or reshapes front teeth without crowns: small chips, gaps between teeth and dark triangles near the gum. Composite veneers cover the front of a tooth to change its colour or shape. Bonding can be part of a wider smile makeover. For crowns and bridges, digital impressions are taken with a 3Shape TRIOS intraoral scanner.
Complicated and impacted wisdom teeth are referred to a specialist surgical unit when needed.

Can a tooth with a failed root canal treatment be saved?
Often it can, with retreatment. Whether your tooth can be kept depends on how much sound tooth is left and on what the X-rays show. Send us a recent X-ray and Dt. Samast can give you a first opinion.
Is composite bonding the same as veneers?
No. Composite bonding is built up directly on the tooth in resin, usually without removing much of the tooth. Porcelain veneers are made outside the mouth and bonded on. Which one suits you is decided at the examination.
Does Dt. Samast remove wisdom teeth?
Straightforward extractions, yes. Complicated or impacted wisdom teeth are referred to a specialist surgical unit when needed.
