FIXED PROSTHESES ON IMPLANT
We use the most modern treatment methods and technological tools to detect and treat every problem in your mouth and teeth.
After the implants, which were previously placed in the jawbone, are fully integrated into the jawbone, the construction of the prosthesis on the implant, which is called the superstructure, begins.
Two different types of fixed prosthesis on implant can be made, cemented (adhesive) and occlusal screwed. Occlusal or cemented implant preference depends on the number of implants, gingival level, height of the tooth to be made, etc. factors are determined by the physician. In both systems, either metal-based prostheses or zirconium can be preferred.
HOW ARE IMPLANT PROSTHESIS MADE?
A gingival-shaping piece is attached to the implants that were previously placed in the jawbone and completely fused-integrated into the bone. After waiting for approximately 1 week and shaping the gingiva, the prosthesis phase is started. In some patients, this gingival shaping appliance can be placed during implant surgery.
The first step of the implant-supported prosthesis application is the measurement. For impressions, the gingival shapers are removed and the impression pieces are attached to the implant, and measurements are taken with traditional impressions or 3D scanners. With the laboratory working on this measure, the prosthesis is completed and applied to the patient. While occlusal screw systems are screwed onto the implant, cemented systems are adhered directly to the tooth like a cut tooth.
HOW IS THE CARE OF IMPLANT PROSTHESIS?
Although it is much more difficult than with all dentures, if not brushed well, the gums around the implants can become inflamed later on. Therefore, oral hygiene should be at the highest level.
Every surface of the teeth should be brushed for at least 2 minutes. Brushing technique should be in the form of sweeping movements, first with circular movements from the gingiva to the tip of the tooth.
Especially at night, the acidity of the mouth increases and mouth dryness occurs. For this reason, brushing before going to bed should never be interrupted.
There is no gingival papilla between the implant and the normal tooth. Because the patient had the implanted area removed long ago, the papilla filling the gums disappeared. For this reason, the spaces between implants or between implants and teeth should be cleaned with special interface brushes or mouthwashes with pressure water jets.
Regular dental check-ups every 6 months should not be interrupted.
