FIBER POST APPLICATION

It is a preferred application in teeth that have a solid root structure but have serious material loss in the crown. The aim is to increase the retention in the superstructure by taking support from the root structure. In this application, first root canal treatment is applied, then a fiber post is placed inside the root canal. In this way, the superstructure restoration extends into the root and becomes particularly resistant to lateral forces. In cases where the tooth wall is too small, fiber post + veneer should be applied instead of only the filling or only the veneer.

Although cast or metal post structures were used for this process in the past, fiber post is used today due to its many advantages.

FIBER POST ADVANTAGES

It is not necessary to measure according to casting posts, they are directly applicable systems. Since the fiber post is white or transparent in color, there is no color reflection like metal posts. Compared to metal posts, fiber posts do not transmit forces directly, but due to their flexible structure, they do not create tension within the tooth and do not break the tooth. If attention is paid to oral hygiene, a physician is checked every 6 months and the chewing forces on the teeth are minimized, fiber posts can be used for many years.
